About your role

Fairphone proved a phone can be fair to people and the planet. Audio is our second act: repairable, long-lasting products in a category dominated by disposables, sold through our webshop and like-minded partners across Europe. Our Audio portfolio represents a major growth engine for Fairphone, with ambitions to multiply revenue in the coming years. You will play a critical role in driving this growth.

As Commercial Alliance Manager Audio within the Indirect Sales team, you will fully own the audio commercial strategy. Working alongside regional account teams, you will execute strategies to expand our partner network and build strong alliances for Fairbuds, Fairbuds XL, and upcoming innovations. You will have a seat at the table for every key commercial lever touching audio: pricing, promotions, channel terms, and go-to-market launches. You bring full accountability for driving category momentum and solving channel bottlenecks.

Reporting to the Head of Indirect Sales, you will lead category business development, aligning Indirect and Direct Sales to ensure all channels win together. You will be measured on clear sell-through and listing coverage targets.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Ownership
  • Deliver on audio indirect sales targets by driving sell-in, sell-through and Sell-out across all regions.
  • Support regional teams in adapting the category strategy and fine-tuning value propositions locally.
  • Report category performance to senior leadership quarterly, presenting clear gap-to-plan analyses and actionable recovery strategies.
Strategy & Roadmap
  • Co-define and maintain the company-wide audio commercial strategy with the Go-To-Market team, tracking industry trends and competitive moves.
  • Tailor strategic partnerships to regional market nuances to maximize growth.
  • Track partner and territory performance, co-creating targeted growth plans with regional account managers.
Partnership Development
  • Target, evaluate, and secure strategic partners (distributors, retailers, technology platforms) across Europe and expansion markets.
  • Conduct due diligence and negotiate favorable agreements with new resellers and distribution networks.
Relationship Management
  • Build and nurture strong C-level and buyer relationships within partner organizations.
  • Co-develop joint business plans and joint marketing initiatives to maximize channel velocity.
  • Join regional partner managers in presenting strategic roadmaps and leading Business Reviews (QBRs).
Internal Orchestration
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure seamless operations and strategy alignment.
  • Represent Fairphone at industry events and trade shows to generate new partnership opportunities.

Key Objectives
  • Own sales targets per region and channel for the audio category.
  • Implement our 2027 strategy while building the long-term pipeline to support multi-year growth.
  • Identify and negotiate strategic alliances that expand Fairphone’s category presence.
  • Eliminate coverage gaps in our partner network to maximize market availability.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Proven track record in strategic alliance management, channel sales, or account management within consumer electronics (audio category experience preferred).
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of European retail and distribution landscapes, with an established network.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with a history of building high-trust business relationships.
  • Negotiation: Demonstrated ability to structure and close complex commercial agreements.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong capability to evaluate market opportunities, track financial metrics, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Languages: Fluent written and spoken English; proficiency in Dutch, German, French, or Spanish is a strong plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20% within Europe.
